Last night saw 24 brave, although some may suggest foolish, souls bracing themselves to play padel during Storm Benjamin. With the weather forecasts changing throughout the day, it was a difficult decision to take regarding going ahead or not. However, with supper already prepared we decided to take a chance and go with the plan, and if the conditions were not conducive to playing, at least we could all have supper, a drink and a chat! The forecasters were wrong … We were able to play for the full session without any stoppages at all. Very well played to all who took part and our winners on the night were Liz Pickett and James Faulkner.

A big thank you to Gill Bisland and Chris Hyde for providing delicious chillis for this one – and also giving the evening a more Mexican feel with decorations and tequila shots on offer!
